What is Heroes & Other Worlds?

Heroes & Other Worlds is a game of adventure inspired by Metagaming's classic Melee/Wizard/TFT system combined with inspiration from the Moldvay edited basic game. The rules are easy to learn and use standard six sided dice. The system is simple, sensible and flexible in the spirit of classic role playing games from the early 80's. Become a Hero, Other Worlds await!

Sorry

Sorry the craziest year ever in my work life last year...was trumped by this year's insanity.  I am very happy and grateful to have a great job in the real world, but the office demands and travel are severely cutting into any shot at time to write and create. I know this may come as a surprise, but my lovely wife would like to spend time with me as do other family and friends in those spare hours when I have time to do so.

So I apologize to you that things are not coming along as quickly as I had hoped and intended. I can only ask your continued patience and hope that the results will be worth the wait.  I am as anxious to get some new stuff out as (I hope) you are to see some new stuff. Thank you!

  2. I feel your pain! Broken water pipe; credit card hack; checking account hack; lost tax paperwork; son graduating high school. On top of work. I haven't painted a miniature since March....

    Hang in there, Brother. ;-)

  3. Scott that is a terrible string of misfortune--so sorry for the ill luck!! I keep two quotes taped on my monitor at work and share one with you here--"If you are going through hell, keep going."--Sir Winston Churchill.

    So keep going brother!

  9. I am in the same boat, work wants more time and I commute 3 hours a day, Married recently and wanting to spend more time with her and my new step daughter, and our 2 dogs and 3 cats. And getting the house ready for fall and winter and the Holidays.

I am going to be using the Spells and Swords to run some miniature games at a local convention, will post some pictures next week.

  10. At the end of your life, when you're lying on your deathbed, you won't be thinking; "Darn it! If I'd just published that stuff when I originally thought I would, this life would have been perfect!"

Spend some time with your family, enjoy the holidays, take some time to appreciate the leaves changing and the whisper of the snow as if falls. You've already pumped out more (and better organized/designed) work than Gary Gygax did by this point in time at the beginning of it all.

As for the new stuff...yes, we want it, yes we can hardly wait, yes, yes, yes. But you know what? I've been waiting for two years on "Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition," and there's still no real guarantee it will ever see the light of day. I've been waiting for 15 years on "Total War" for the Europa system, and I can pretty much guarantee I'll never see that item. So if I have to wait a few more months for Blades and Black Magic, or the next issue of Cauldron, so be it.

  11. Buzzclaw here (this is my "civilian" account), I've been in the same boat thanks to a grueling college semester. It's been over three months since I've had a chance to post anything on my blog. I had hoped to get into a RPG campaign on my campus but I had to give up once I realized how heavy my workload was.

    Just keep on keeping on.
